Since 1993 Skjern Papirfabrik has been certified according to the energy management standard, ISO 50001.
Since then Skjern Papirfabrik has established principles and energy guidelines for the mill. During the years Skjern Papirfabrik have made huge investments in optimization of the production facilities, reduction of the energy consumption as well as production of district heating for Skjern City.

Continuously updating and prioritizing of the energy screening list containing an overview of upcoming relevant energy projects.
Implementation of cost-effective energy-saving projects from the above screening list.
Implementation of all energy projects with an expected payback period of less than 5 years.
Implementation of specific studies, in agreement with the Danish Energy Agency.
Continuous updating of the energy mapping.
